Che Churro

Located at 6543 Somerled Avenue, Che Churros is one of the best churro restaurants in Montreal. Churros are a famous fried dough pastry that originated in Spain. Spanish shepherds were the first to introduce churros to the rest of the population. It eventually traveled in other parts of Europe and later came to America and came all the way to Montreal. There are different versions of churros such as the Mexican version which is made with chocolate and can be found at many street vendors. Traditional churros are long and piped through a star-shaped nozzle and they are dusted with sugar and cinnamon. Churros can also be stuffed with caramel, chocolate and other types of fillings. Dipping sauces are popular as well like a chocolate one with traditional churros.

The goal of this restaurant is to keep the Spanish tradition, which is why the owner, Ariel, makes traditional Spanish churros. They can fill them with dulce de leche or Nutella and dip them in a chocolate sauce as well. Ariel makes traditional churros, but he also brings other version like a salty one. They are very affordable, and one or two churros are perfect for a dessert. A traditional churro is $1.25 and a filled or salty churro is $1.50.
